Jackson Civils carry out contracting for The Environment Agency. A large proportion of their work is to build or repair permanent flood defence walls. During the works there is an innate flood risk due to the removal of the existing flood wall; Floodstop is deployed to ensure a robust, proven flood barrier system is in place protecting at risk locations during the construction works.

Our 0.9m and 0.5m high Floodstop barriers have been supplied to many nuclear sites in the UK and USA. As an example, at a UK nuclear site which is being decommissioned, our 0.9m high Floodstop system has been supplied to create a perimeter defence barrier to protect various assets from the perceived risk of flooding. Our systems are deployed on a permanent basis or as a rapid response barrier if a spillage or flood occurs.

In response to the devastating Cockermouth floods of 2009 the Environment Agency and its contractors have been working on temporary and fixed barrier solutions to mitigate against future flood events. Fluvial Innovations have provided a significant quantity of flood barrier to protect a number of locations prior to permanent defences being built to protect from flooding.
